Youth Scholarship Award

This scholarship award, based on a point system from bowling activities and academia, will be awarded to outstanding youths actively involved in bowling. Scholarships will be submitted to the USBC SMART Program (Scholarship Management and Accounting Reports for Tenpins) to help with their continued educational goals. Thank you for spreading the word about this great opportunity and we look forward to the future scholarship winners.

PURPOSE
To promote and grow the sport of Nikkei bowling in Southern California by recognizing excellent qualities in a high school students who also compete in the sport of bowling. Qualities include distinguished certified bowling performances on local, state, national, international, Team USA or Collegiate levels; academic achievement; and leadership. Award winners receive a scholarship award that is valid at any University, Junior College or Vocational Institution.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Currently a California USBC member in good standing of the current bowling season.

  2. Currently bowling in a USBC youth certified league (average verification from local association must be provided.)

  3. A direct relative (son, daughter, niece, nephew or cousin) of a current SCNBA member

  4. Currently a high school Sophmore, Junior, Senior or College Freshman

  5. Younger than 20 years of age as of August 1st of the previous year

  6. Have a minimum of 2.0 GPA or equivalent.

SUBMISSION
Your application must be made using this official form. Please complete this form and return it postmarked by the deadline stated above. This scholarship award may only be won once and is valid only for Southern California youth bowlers per the eligibility requirements. If more than one deserving applicant is selected, the scholarship award will be split equally for that year. Thank you for applying for this scholarship.
